TRANSPORTATION:
Errands and Doctors Appts
Drive clients to dentist and doctors appointments, pick up eyeglasses, run errands to places like the dry cleaner or post office.
Groceries and Shopping
Accompany client to pick up groceries and assist with shopping for clothes, gifts or whatever the need may be. In addition the companion can perform these tasks for the client so that they don’t have to leave their home if they would rather stay at home.
The companion will frequent client specified stores.
Medicine Pickup
Check medicine needs making sure prescriptions are filled on time, pickup up prescriptions and over the counter medicines as appropriate and requested.
Activities
This includes any social activity such as club meetings, golf, lunch with friends, community or volunteer events.
Companions can accompany the client or arrange to drop off and pick up on request.
HOUSE KEEPING:
Light Housework
Vacuuming, dusting, keeping the house organized, bathroom and kitchen cleanup, emptying trash and making sure it gets picked up. Our companions can work with the client to keep the house in good repair on the inside and outside.
Laundry
Will wash, dry and iron in addition to linen changing and cleaning..
The companion can assist in making sure the client has changed clothes and that the clothes have been regularly cleaned.
Meal Preparation
Companions can prepare meals and assist in making sure the household is stocked with food during the week.. In some instances it can be critical that the companion make sure the senior continues a regular diet and eats healthy meals.
Mail and Bill Management
Perform the often overwhelming task of reviewing mail, separating junk mail from bills and on request make sure that payments are made by the client in a timely fashion.
COMPANIONSHIP/SUPERVISION:
A companion can brighten a senior’s day by sharing a meal, or just providing company to share conversation. In addition the companion provide critical feedback on the senior’s mental and physical behavior as they spend more time with them. Sometimes this is the only person the senior may see all day.
MEDICATION REMINDERS:
The companion can make sure the client is aware of which medications need to be taken and at what time. In many instances, keeping track of several medications, each on a different schedule can be overwhelming to manage for anyone.
CUSTOMIZED SERVICES:
Every senior has specific needs and companions will make every attempt to provide the care that is requested and necessary for the senior to continue to enjoy living in their own home. The companion will provide feedback on the situation at a family’s request but will respect the privacy of all parties.
The care may be as minimal as 2 hours a day or we can provide live-in care if this is more appropriate. Your Own Home will work with each and every client to insure that the senior gets the best possible care.
